The Next Chapter of My Story...
StoryFuel has always been a small operation.
I’ve brought on contractors for specific projects here and there, but for the most part, it’s been me. The strategy, the consulting, updating the website, all of it.
For a one-woman operation, StoryFuel accomplished some amazing things.
I’ve doubled our revenue year after year, spoken on increasingly large stages around the world, and offered workshops for companies higher and higher on the Fortune lists (I just barely missed cracking the top 10). I published a book just as the pandemic hit, then I built a webinar set in my office and kept on keeping on.
My goal was always to reach as many marketers as possible, sharing best practices from the world of journalism, so I could create a massive shift in the way brands tell stories. And I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made through StoryFuel over the last six years.
But I can’t fully realize a vision this big on my own.
Which is why I’m so psyched to be taking on the role of Director of Content at Foundation Marketing, an innovative content agency for SaaS and B2B brands.
I’ll be joining an incredibly talented content creation and distribution team (headed up by the awesome Ross Simmonds) with content beliefs and goals that align so closely with my own, that this hardly feels like a change at all.
I’ll be overseeing the content being created for our clients, weighing in on both strategy and ideation. I’ll take the lead on a few of our client accounts, and pitch in with others when I can be helpful. I’ll host internal workshops and skill-sharing sessions, so we can learn from one another and execute at our highest level. I’ll roll up my sleeves and create awesome content I can be proud of. And I’ll work with the team to help ensure that all of our talent and ingenuity are on full display across our own social profiles and properties.
But mostly, I’ll be doing good work with good people.
That’s something I’ve really missed while operating as an island.
That’s me and Ross, doing our best remote-team-fist-bump to celebrate!
So what does this mean for StoryFuel?
The good news is that any client who’d be looking to StoryFuel for content strategy consulting can still access my expertise via Foundation, now with the added bonus of a qualified team to help bring the recommended content to life!
You can still invite me to speak at your conference or event, and I can still come chat with you on your podcast, contribute a guest post to your site, or offer a quote for your article. (Seriously, I’d love to!) I’ll just have an updated bio and title to share.
All of the online resources will remain available for purchase or print on the website (though we will press pause on the Brand Storyteller Mastermind).
Foundation is, and has always been, a fully remote team, so I’ll continue to work from my home office here in Raleigh, NC (and local cafes, when it’s safe to do so).
Really, not much else is changing.
