Melanie was chosen for She Runs It's Mentor program, having received their 2018 GenNext Award for emerging leaders and their Education Relief Award in 2015. She serves on the advisory board of the Native Advertising Institute, and has judged industry awards for the Content Marketing Institute, Digiday, WANIFRA, Native Advertising Institute, Syracuse University, and more.
She authored the T Brand Studio branded content pieces that won the OMMA Award for "Best Native Advertising Execution" in 2014 and 2015, and was the youngest of 50 alums honored at the 50Forward Gala for Syracuse University's Newhouse School, alongside Bob Costas, Larry Kramer, Dennis Crowley and more. Melanie is also a member of the National Speakers Association, the American Marketing Association, and the American Advertising Federation.

Melanie graduated Magna Cum Laude from UConn, and was the recipient of multiple merit-based scholarships as a student, including the Deeley Foundation Scholarship, the Charles Litsky Memorial Scholarship, The Goldring Scholarship, the Chemtura Corporation National Merit Scholarship and more. She was chosen for membership in the Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies, She served as the Executive Producer of The NewsHouse when it won the SPJ Best Independent Online Student Publication award in 2013, and was the Editor in Chief of UConn's Daily Campus when it won 3rd place for NENPA's College Newspaper of the Year Award in 2012.
